Morgan has today unveiled Supersport 400, a new flagship model that becomes the most powerful production Morgan to date. Delivering 402 bhp, it is the first production Morgan to exceed 400 bhp and marks the next step in the evolution of Morgan’s performance offering.
Positioned at the pinnacle of the Supersport range, Supersport 400 is a more focused interpretation of Morgan’s six-cylinder platform, combining increased performance, sharper dynamic capability and heightened driver engagement. Built on the CXV-Generation bonded-aluminium platform, it further develops the potential of Morgan’s latest architecture through targeted engineering enhancements.
Powered by the latest BMW B58 ‘O1’ inline six-cylinder turbocharged engine and paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, Supersport 400 delivers immediate, effortless performance with the balance and responsiveness that define every Morgan. Producing 402 bhp and capable of 0-62 mph in 3.6 seconds, it combines increased pace with a driving experience that remains intuitive, engaging and approachable.
More than a new flagship, Supersport 400 demonstrates how Morgan continues to evolve its distinctive approach to lightweight sports car design. Increased capability has been achieved without compromising the qualities that matter most — individuality, driver engagement and a direct relationship between driver, machine and road.
“Supersport 400 is the purest expression of Supersport, signalling a natural progression for the range and allowing us to unlock greater possibilities from the CXV platform, all while remaining true to Morgan’s core principles of creating beautiful and engaging lightweight sports cars.
Matthew Hole, Managing Director, Morgan Motor Company
“From the outset, our aim has been to create a vehicle that is sharper and more deliberate, ensuring the additional power is delivered in a way that feels balanced, intuitive and deeply rewarding for the driver. At the same time, a subtle design evolution gives Supersport 400 a more distinct and purposeful character.
“We are immensely proud of Supersport 400. It stands at the pinnacle of our range and reflects the progress we are making as a business. It demonstrates how we can evolve our platform to increase capability in a way that remains distinctly Morgan — defined by handcrafted construction, human engagement in the driving experience and a commitment to delivering pure driving joy.
“That progress is being seen across the business, through the dedication of our colleagues, growing momentum in key markets including the United States and Europe, to continued investment in research, development and new models. Supersport 400 is a fundamental part of our journey.”
Driver Focus
Supersport 400 arrives with Morgan’s Dynamic Handling Pack as part of its standard specification. Featuring adjustable Nitron dampers, revised suspension geometry and model-specific calibration, the package is engineered to deliver greater composure, precision and control while preserving the approachable character of the Supersport platform. With 24 clicks of damping adjustment, drivers can tailor ride and response to suit their preference and the road ahead.
The result is a chassis that feels more resolved and more communicative, responding cleanly to steering inputs while remaining fluid and confidence-inspiring across a wide range of roads. It is performance shaped around the enjoyment of driving.
An optional limited-slip differential further enhances traction and stability, while a new high-flow Active Performance Exhaust System has been developed specifically for Supersport 400. Tuned to complement the character of the six-cylinder engine, it delivers a more purposeful soundtrack while maintaining the refinement expected of a flagship model.
New forged 19-inch Sportlite alloy wheels form part of the standard specification, reducing unsprung mass and rotational inertia to improve agility and steering response. Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres complete the package, selected for their progressive behaviour at the limit and the high levels of feedback they transmit to the driver.
Purposeful evolution
Supersport 400 introduces a subtle evolution of the Supersport design language, reflecting its increased performance while maintaining the restraint and clarity of a modern Morgan. Each enhancement has been carefully integrated to reflect its greater dynamic capability.
New front wing vents improve airflow and cooling while giving the car a distinct identity. Revised lower bodywork finishes increase contrast between flowing aluminium surfaces and technical elements, reinforcing the relationship between design and engineering. The result is a stronger visual presence that remains unmistakably Morgan.
New forged 19-inch Sportlite alloy wheels also contribute to the car’s purposeful stance. Their lightweight construction helps reduce unsprung mass, while finishes in mid-silver as standard or optional bronze offer further opportunity for personal expression.
Inside, a series of carefully judged enhancements create a more tactile cabin environment. New Alcantara interior options are available alongside full leather trim, introducing additional texture and support while reinforcing the car’s more focused character. The material also extends to the optional Alcantara steering wheel, creating a more connected feel through every input.
Bespoke stitching and unique dial artwork distinguish the model within the range. Manufactured by Caerbont, the original manufacturer of Smiths dials in the UK, the dials retain an analogue appearance while using modern CAN and LIN communication technology, blending timeless design with discreet functionality.
An optional aluminium automatic gear selector is introduced for the first time on a CX-Generation Morgan. Finished in anodised dark grey aluminium, it provides a precise and tactile interface that complements the car’s performance-led interior. A small detail, but one that is felt at the start of every journey.
Together, these elements create an interior that feels focused, refined and unmistakably handcrafted — an environment designed around the experience of driving without distraction.
An Expression of Individuality
As with every Morgan, each Supersport 400 is coach-built at Pickersleigh Road and commissioned as an individual expression of its owner. No two commissions are the same, with every choice shaped around personal taste and intended use.
Four new satin paint finishes are available — Forged Grey, Silk Silver, Sail Silver and Horizon Blue — expanding the exterior palette with contemporary new options. Optional coral accent detailing can be specified across exterior graphics, brake callipers and interior elements, while marquetry veneers and bespoke finishes allow further layers of individuality, resulting in a sports car that feels deeply personal before the first journey has even begun.
A new chapter for Morgan
The introduction of Supersport 400 also signals continued momentum for Morgan, with a broader programme of bespoke and limited-run collections planned over the next 18 months. This growth is supported by ongoing investment in engineering, manufacturing and future model programmes at the company’s Malvern headquarters.
Supersport 400 is available to order now, priced from £112,965 plus local market taxes, with production commencing in May. Enquire with your nearest Morgan dealer via the links below.
